Bowled Over by Authenticity: Bumble India's Playful Pitch to Gen Z Ft. Ravi Shastri 

In October 2023, we were approached by the digital dating and social networking platform Bumble India to launch a campaign in time for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024. This campaign, featuring cricket legend Ravi Shastri, is designed to resonate deeply with Indian youth during the ICC Cricket World Cup season.

The primary goal was to create a quirky, culturally-relevant, and humorous film that captures the spirit of cricket season while emphasising Bumble's key message of celebrating authenticity and self-love. 

A Commentary on Dating and Self-Love- But Make It Gen Z!

The campaign is built on the insight that people often feel pressured to alter themselves to fit into conversations around key cultural moments. Quirky, culturally-relevant, and seriously funny,  the film effectively demonstrates Bumble’s commitment to kindness, and reminds audiences to just be themselves.

Pitch Perfect: Ravi Shastri x Bumble

We conceptualised and produced a film where commentator extraordinaire Ravi Shastri takes centre stage in a narrative that strikes a chord with anyone who's ever felt like they don't quite fit in. The GOAT embarks on his own existential journey to identify ways in which he can offer commentary on dating to youngsters. He hilariously peppers his signature style of commentary with Gen Z lingo, delivering lines like 'cop a W', 'rizz', and 'the real G' with a panache that only he can muster.  Ultimately, he realises that the solution is to do what he does best- use his own unique style to knock it out of the park. The film  culminates with the message: If you want to bowl them over, just be yourself!

The campaign was a hit, resonating with Gen Z and cricket fans alike. The humorous take on dating and self-expression during a culturally significant event like the ICC Cricket World Cup made the film stand out, driving engagement and brand affinity for Bumble India. 

By successfully combining Ravi Shastri's comedic genius with Bumble's message of authenticity, we crafted a memorable and impactful digital campaign that not only entertained, but also reinforced Bumble's position as a brand that understands and celebrates the cultural nuances of Indian youth.
